CHARACTER
Name: Koto
Canon: Kyousougiga
Age: 14
Timeline: End of the series, after meeting god.
Items with character at canon point:
- A mirror> once owned by her mother, which grants her cross-dimensional travel powers (This will obviously be limited to nothing more than a trinket in Ruby City).
- Aratama, her size-changing hammer.
- Her shikigami/familiars, Aa and Un. Who have both a shikigami form and a human form. Aa is the red one and Un is the blue one. They are capable of speech. Both of them have their own personalities but are not strong enough to be independent characters, and have been with Koto for her entire life. The three treat each other as siblings.
- A change of clothes.

If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: n/a

Personality: Upon looking at her, Koto seems like a child that is loud and hyperactive and destructive and it's hard to guess she was a crybaby once upon a time. She appears to be loud and obnoxious, caring only for herself (and her familiars) and all around focused on having fun. If having fun means destroying things and antagonizing people, so be it, she doesn't mean any serious offense. She can be loud and abrasive and annoying, but she never means any serious harm. For a good portion of the time in canon, she runs around and causes mayhem. She has Kurama's assistants send their new inventions after her so she can destroy them.

She's incredibly prone to violence and physical activity. If someone gets on her nerves, she won't hesitate to pick a fight. It's not that Koto doesn't have manners or patience, she just doesn't

It might be hard to see past her exterior, but Koto also has a heart of gold, even if she might be going about it the wrong way or the most ineffective way. For example, when Yase's cup was lost, Koto spent the entire day at the dump trying to find it. She doesn't want to make a good impression on people (she doesn't care!) but she does want to be kind to the people she knows.

However, Koto demonstrates that ability to deeply understand people and accepts responsibility for her actions. Because she has caused so much trouble for everyone at the Mirror Capital, when she is given the opportunity

She cares about her family.

It's important to remember that Koto is only fourteen years old during the events of her story. Even though she is in the process of becoming an adult, she does not the capability to handle an overwhelming amount of stress that even adults cannot handle. this mat

Her greatest emoiotnal weakness comes from that fact that she was kept in the dark about her past. Because Inari wkept so many secrets from her, Koto is prone to having no patience for this kind of thing. She'll get upset and a

Despite that emotional weakness, however, Koto will very quickly bounce back and show maturity. She might be upset that she was kept in the dark, but she's quick to take action on how she can move past that one thing that happened. The way she goes about it is a little impulsive, and may not always be in the best interest of everyone but herself, but that's all part of who she is to begin with.

Background: Brace yourself because this is one hell of a ride. c/w for suicide.

Kyousogiga is literally described as the story of one family, and it is also the story of how one family almost destroyed the balance of universe.

Once upon a time there was a monk named Myoue who lived by himself outside the city of Kyoto. He had the power to create anything he wishes, and due to this power everyone lived in fear of him. In response, Myoue created a world of his own to keep himself company which he dubbed the Mirror Capital (also pronounced Kyoto, with a different kanji) and filled it with his his own drawings. The most poignant and important one of these drawings is a black rabbit he named Koto. The rabbit fell in love with the monk, and due to her devotion, was given the body of a Bodhisattva on the condition that the body would be returned one day. This human of the rabbit will now be referred to as Lady Koto, to avoid confusion.

The two fell in love and adopted a human child (Yakushimaru) who was on the brink of death. In order to give this child company, Myoue drew two more demon children to keep Yakushimaru company. One was a boy (Kurama), and the other was a girl (Yase). Because of the circumstances surrounding their family and fearing their safety, the family then moved inside the world Myoue had created, the Mirror Capital.

Koto is conceived during this time, and in the process, Lady Koto loses most of her powers and even her right to exist. Some point later, Lady Koto leaves the Mirror Capital because she begins to have prophetic dreams of the world being destroyed. She begins to stay in a pocket dimension called the Sanctuary. Myoue also leaves with the newborn Koto to a government agency named Shrine. Before leaving, he passes on his name and title to his human son, Yakushimaru, and leaves to be reborn. The three siblings become the governors of the city and govern in their stead.

Myoue reincarnates into a younger form and now names himself Inari. Inari is an official of the government agency of Shrine. Shrine can basically be regarded as an agency that exists to watch over the balance and stability of the other twelve realms of existence. It's apt to mention now that the Mirror Capital is not considered as one of these realms of existence. Inari brings Koto to Shrine acting as her Teacher (Sensei). On the surface and even to Koto, he is her teacher and she is her protege that he picked up (she calls him sensei). At Shrine, Koto is often regarded as 'an oddity' or a 'not even human' and is bullied because of her red eyes and unknown past. Inari and the other adults at Shrine also keep a variety of secrets from her, and she grows up without knowing where she came from or anything about her mother.

One night, a young Koto wanders through the house and follows after a mysterious black rabbit to a room where Inari is sleeping because he is not sleeping in his bed. She discovers drawings of an imaginary city and a picture of a black rabbit with her name (Koto). Inari then cries out for Koto, the rabbit, and Koto decides that the rabbit must be her mother and that she definitely exists. She also figures out that Inari is not her teacher but her father and surprises him by calling him "Papa". Koto becomes determined and motivated to find out who her mother is, and her father gives her a mirror that once belonged to the Lady Koto and tells her she'll definitely meet her mother someday.

Eventually Koto graduates from school and becomes an agent of Shrine. On that same day, she follows a black rabbit into and (literally) breaks into the Mirror capital, which no one has known existed until now.

After breaking into the mirror capital, she meets the now-adult Yakushimaru (Myoue). Deciding that the Mirror Capital will give her hints on where to find her mother, Koto and her brothers stay there. Myoue acts as their guardian. Much of her adventures from onwards is just becoming acquainted with the mirror capital adn causing trouble. She messes with Kurama's assistants and terrorizes them, but she also goeso ut of her way to try and find a cup after it is lost and breaks a lot of things in the process. This is all to the exasperation of Myoue. This escalates so bad that he has to contain her with his rosary beads. When not exploring, she argues with Myoue.

Myoue and Koto have a talk while walking in the Mirror Capital. After Koto mentions that "A-Un" means "the beginning and the end". Myoue realizes that Koto must be her sibling and promises that he'll help her find their mother. However, he asks that she kill him once she has been found. Koto promises him that she'll kill him. It is around the same time, Kurama and Yase plan to find their Mother using Koto. This culminates in a huge clash between the giant robot guardian built by Kurama's assistants and Koto's hammer. The robot swallows her, and in an attempt to break out she also breaks the bond between worlds and smashes open the path to the Sanctuary where her mother resides. After a tearful greeting, Lady Koto and Koto go back to the Mirror Capital.

Everyone is ecstatic to see her, and Lady Koto spend the day with her family. Then she explains that she must leave again, most likely out of fear of destroying the place. Inari returns at this time as well, explaining that the path to the previous unknown thirteenth world has been opened. With the opening of the path, the rest of the worlds, along with the mirror capital, begins to collapse.

Shrine arrives in the Mirror Capital and explains that it must be destroyed to keep the other worlds stable. Koto threatens to break the rest of the worlds unless the Mirror Capital safe. Inari thanks her for wanting to protect the world he created, praises her, thanks her, and then stabs her with his sword. This sends Koto into a trance-like state and she begins to mindless destroy everything, including the Mirror Capital. Inari takes Lady Koto and then flees back into the Sanctuary.

While Koto is destroying everything, Myoue and Kurama have a lengthy but important conversation. Kurama reveals that when Inari passed on the title of Myoue, he also passed on the ability to create life. Myoue then goes to snap Koto out of her trance-like state, and the two of htem recreate hte mirror capital and hte rest of the worlds in the process. Exhasuted, the two of them pass out and wake up somewhere else completely.

Inari's father and thus their grandfather is God, and explains Inari's plan was always to pass on his soul so someone else can be a god because Inari never wanted the responsibility. Koto accepts this plan without hesitating, only to backpedal after hearing that this will alsowipe out Inari's existence. She then breaks through the world with Myoue to meet with Inari. On the way there, Koto tells Myoue that she can kill him whenever he wants, but for the time being she wants them to stay together a little longer.

The first thing Koto does upon arriving at the sanctuary is to punch him in the face. Koto rebukes his self-deprecation and tell him that staying together is what being a family is. He may not love himself but everyone in the family does, and no one wants to disappear. Convinced, Inari goes back to the Mirror Capital with them. Myoue and Koto become the gods in Inari's stead. Myoue stabilizes Lady Koto's existence. Koto takes up Inari's duty as overseer of the twelve different worlds while Myoue stays home and watches over the Mirror Capital.

It is not long after this that Koto is brought to Ruby City.

Abilities:
The most obvious thing thing about Koto is that she has incredible strength and is prone to acts of violence, especially towards people she feels familiar with. One punch from Koto can send someone flying into the ground. One kick can send someone flying towards the wall. She can easily send a table flying into someone with just a kick.

As mentioned before, Koto has her Aratama. This hammer was given to her by her father and can grow to almost any size. It can destroy buildings, objects, barriers, worlds if she keeps smashing. You get the gist. Aratama also often has sparks of electricity around it and can occasionally shoot beams of energy. (It will obviously nerfed to not do that anymore, ideally I'd like to keep its size-changing abilities.).

Duties that came with taking on half of Inari's duty as god are not mentioned in series.

Prose Log Sample:
Peering back from the mirror in front of her, Koto stared at her reflection. Her bow was a little out of place, but no matter, she tugged on it and fixed it, then she leaned back again, and grinned triumphantly at herself in the mirror. "Looking good, Koto!" Her little brothers snickered behind her, she ignored them and focused on the crisp white uniform in the mirror.

Shrine had given her the uniform after taking over for Inari, and to be different it didn't look all that different from her old uniform- and she was still gonna put that sweater over it, but it was so free of wrinkles that she couldn't stop staring at herself. They gave her a cloak and hat, too! "Un," she said, forcing her voice to sound mature and kingly and the end result was anything but that. "Bring me my cloak and hat!" The boy in the blue hood obeyed, plucking a black hat and cloak off from a nearby dresser and dropped it in her hands.

Koto gingerly secured the hat on her head, turning this way and that way to admire the way it looked. Her little brothers were sitting on the tatami floor, staring at her with their blank gazes. They probably didn't understand, but she really did look so good! She'll just have to get Shrine to give them uniforms, too! She sorted out the cloak and tossed it around her shoulders, working on the buttons and clasps when Myoue's voice put that to a halt. She was probably going to get yelled at for something. Koto's face blanched, and both Ah and Un's expressions echoed hers.

She was about to turn tail and bail, but her foot twisted, she caught the fabric of her sweater still lying haphazardly on the ground and ate tatami. "Myoue's here." Un's voice was placid, as if she hadn't fallen on her face at all. Ah was still laughing. Maybe if she just lied there on the ground, Myoue would go away.

Koto lied there for a minute, not moving at all. He didn't go away. She rolled over on to her back and stared into his blue eyes.

"You're going to be late for work." Myoue said.

She gave him a noise of affirmation to indicate she heard him and then continued lying there.

"So why aren't you on your way?" Myoue asked.

She didn't want to be nagged over this! Last time she checked, she had plenty of time! She pulled her feet back to her chest, and then kicked forwards, digging her heelsinto Myoue's stomach. She heard him gasp in pain, reeling back, and picked herself off the floor. Ah was bowled over with laughter, and Un was sullen but she could tell he was in a better mood than before.

"Alright, kids-" Koto saw Myoue slowly climb to his feet. Her little brothers returned to their shikigami forms, blue and red floating about her. She broke into a run, and heard Myoue's grumbling behind her and the sound of his feet on the floor.
